Cruise: June Dinner Dance
June 10 - June 12
The June Dinner Dance is happening June 11 in Kingston. This is one of our club’s most favorite events – and you’re invited! Roger, Julie, Jesse, and Harold are doing a fantastic job of sponsoring and planning this event.
The theme this year is “Cha-Cha!, Ha-Ha! – A Caribbean Night in Kingston” – a take-off on the name of the annual cruiser’s ocean race from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas, called the “Baja Ha-Ha”, where the evening parties ashore along the way are a big hit. So plan your cruise to Kingston and join us for a weekend of fun. The big dinner is Saturday evening at the Kingston Cove Yacht Club facility, with the Harry Castro Cuban band returning to entertain and teach us the Cha-Cha.
Dinner will be catered by the Kingston Alehouse. Prizes will be awarded for the best-dressed gal (Carmen Miranda look-alike?) and best-dressed guy (a touch of Ricky Ricardo perhaps?). Harold Baldwin will be preparing a special appetizer (barbecued shrimp/pineapple skewers with peach/mango salsa), accompanied by a fabulous Mai-Tai (beer and wine available for the balance of the evening).
Be sure to call the Kingston Marina (360-297-3545) to secure one of the limited guest dock slips we’ve reserved for the club. Roger Newby plans to bring his keyboard and do his piano bar thing for cocktail hour(s) Friday evening on the dock. Don’t delay – book your reservations via Evite, secure a slip space, and outfit yourself in true Caribbean Cha-Cha style for a Caribbean Night in Kingston! Look for the Evite in your email which will have a link to pay for your dinner online beforehand and select your desired main dish.
