Come join us for the next SBYC cruise of 2025. Yellow Fest, from Friday, April 11th to Sunday, April 13th at Blake Island State Park. Katie and Jason are sponsoring and organizing this year's Yellow Fest cruise on their boat, Flora,
where they will be collecting your mini-bottles for the hunt Saturday afternoon. We have the shelter at the point reserved all day Saturday, April 12th.
Be sure to decorate your boats in yellow! Please bring some firewood and/or charcoal to share for the grill(s) for the potluck BBQ dinner on Saturday night. And don't forget to bring five mini bottles of booze per person for the Bottle Hunt Saturday afternoon! You must bring bottles to participate in the Bottle Hunt.
Use our Discord group for up-to-date event info, to coordinate additional crew and passengers if you have room on your boat, and to let us know your estimated arrival to help with docking in the marina. Or, call one of the members already at the dock. A few of us plan to arrive on Friday to grab some dock space.
Here is the schedule of the planned events Friday and Saturday.
Friday, April 11:
* 5pm - Happy Hour on the docks
* ?pm - Dinner on your own
Saturday, April 12:
* 12pm - Deadline to turn in your mini bottles to Flora (Jason & Katie)
* 2pm - The annual Bottle Hunt begins
* 4pm - Happy Hour at the reserved shelter
* 6pm - Grill ready for a potluck BBQ at the reserved shelter
* 9:30pm - Clean out the shelter
* 10pm - Quiet hours, shelter closes, move the party to the boats
Some Blake Island rules to note.
* Activities must not damage park resources, leave rubbish, decorations or items that may be hazardous to wildlife (examples: confetti, rice, sidewalk chalk, silly string etc.)
* Firewood gathering is not permitted on the island.
* No trash receptacles are available. This park is strictly pack-in / pack-out for all trash.
